Mempro™ Plant-Based Peptide Fragments of Water-soluble Proteins Production

Inquiry

Creative Biostructure has developed the comprehensive membrane protein production platform through years of experience, our seasoned scientists can offer tailored Mempro™ peptide fragments of water-soluble proteins production services using plant-based expression system.

Peptide fragments of water-soluble proteins belong to a large group of peptides, which are composed of ten families, including peptides of STE5 protein, prion protein peptides, peptides of viral protein R, peptides of huntingtin, peptides of lactotransferrin, amyloidogenic peptide of phosphatase, peptides of antifreeze protein, peptides of superoxide dismutase, hemocyanin-derived peptides and peptides of DNA-binding proteins. Taking peptides of amyloidogenic peptide of phosphatase as an example, protein phosphorylation is in close association with Alzheimer's disease (AD). This disease is the accumulation of the amyloid-beta (Aβ) peptide in the form of amyloid plaques. Additionally, viral protein R (Vpr) is a human immunodeficieny viral gene and protein product, which is a 14-kDa protein with 96 amino acid residues and is important in the process of regulating nuclear import of the HIV-1 pre-integration complex.

Creative Biostructure is highly experienced in providing high-quality membrane protein production services based on various types of plants, such as Nicotiana benthamiana (tobacco), Medicago rativa (alfalfa), Arabidopsis thaliana (A. thaliana), potato, maize, barley and lettuce. We can adopt two different strategies for recombinant membrane protein production in plants: transient expression and stable transformation.

Mempro™ membrane protein production platform using plant system holds a lot of significant advantages, such as animal-free, low protease activity, and low endotoxin. Animal-free recombinant membrane proteins are particularly crucial for customers concerned with experimental variables caused by trace animal components or mammalian pathogens. Notably, membrane proteins expressed by our plant system are free of animal components, serum, endotoxins and antibiotics as well as human or animal infectious agents or other endogenous mammalian contamination.

Key features of Mempro™ plant-based membrane production platform:

  • Cost-effective
  • Easy storage and distribution
  • Environment friendly
  • Free of infectious or toxic contaminants
  • High yield
  • Post-translational modifications

With the Mempro™ plant-based protein production platform, Creative Biostructure is capable of expressing, isolating and purifying peptide fragments of water-soluble proteins to facilitate the study of their structural and biological functions. We can overcome the common difficulties encountered in cell-based expression system, such as misfolding, aggregation, inactivity, high endotoxin, poor stability and solubility, etc.

Creative Biostructure can also provide Mempro™ plant-based virus-like particles (VLPs) production services, Mempro™ animal-free recombinant protein production services and Mempro™ membrane protein production services. Please feel free to contact us for a detailed quote.
