Mempro™ Cell-Based Immunoglobulin Superfamily Protein Production

Inquiry

Based on the comprehensive protein engineering platform established through years of experiences, scientists form Creative Biostructure have successfully provided custom Mempro™ immunoglobulin superfamily protein production services using cell-based expression system.

Mempro™ cell-based protein production system is commonly used for producing integral membrane proteins, such as G-protein coupled receptors (GPCRs) and ion channels. Immunoglobulins are known as antibodies, while the immunoglobulin superfamily (IgSF) is a large group of cell surface and soluble proteins, which are involved in the recognition, binding, or adhesion processes of cells. IgSF members possess a structural domain, known as immunoglobulin domain (Ig domain), which contains appropriately 70-110 amino acids. Ig domain can be found in numerous proteins, such as cell surface antigen receptors, co-receptors and co-stimulatory molecules of the immune system, cell adhesion molecules, cytokine receptors and intracellular muscle proteins. IgSF proteins play crucial roles in the immune system.

Creative Biostructure can produce high-yield IgSF proteins based on cell-based protein expression system, we can perform various strategies for Mempro™ cell-based protein production, including:

  • Mempro™ Protein Production in Bacterial Cells System ;
  • Mempro™ Protein Production in Yeast Cells System;
  • Mempro™ Protein Production in Incest Cells System;
  • Mempro™ Protein Production in Mammalian Cells System.

Escherichia coli (E. coli) is the most widely used bacterial host for the production of IgSF proteins . Yeast cells (specifically saccharomyces cerevisiae and pichia pastoris) system, combines prokaryotic as well as eukaryotic characteristics. It is a charismatic eukaryotic host due to single cells, fast growth rates, inexpensive media, high cell densities. Insect cells (such as Sf9, Sf21 and High Five) are also a major system for IgSF protein expression, which are developed from transfected insect cells in combination with vectors derived from the baculovirus species AcMNPV. Mammalian cells present another eukaryotic system for IgSF protein expression, which provide near-native cell environment. Cell lines derived from COS, CHO, BHK-21, HEK293, HeLa and GH3 are widely used for membrane protein expression.

With the Mempro™ cell-based protein production platform, Creative Biostructure is capable of expressing, isolating, purifying and crystallizing IgSF proteins to facilitate the study of their biological functions.

We provide other various Mempro™ membrane protein production services. Please feel free to contact us for a detailed quote.
