Mempro™ Cell-Based Lipocalin Production

Inquiry

Creative Biostructure provides unparalleled custom Mempro™ lipocalin production services based on cell-based expression system.

The lipocalins are a family of extracellular proteins of approximately 200 residues that can bind and transport small and hydrophobic molecules such as steroids, bilins, retinoids, and lipids. The significant property of lipocalin is that it binds to specific cell-surface receptor to form macromolecular complexes. Members of the lipocalin protein family possess a common tertiary structure architecture, which is an eight stranded antiparallel β-barrel with a repeated topology containing an internal ligand binding site. Lipocalin proteins are invovled in various biological functions, including cancer cell interactions, immune response, retinoid binding, prostaglandin synthesis, and Pheromone transport. Up to now, lipocalin proteins has been indentified in eukaryotic organisms, mostly in vertebrates.

Creative Biostructure can provide various strategies for lipocalin production using Mempro™ cell-based proteins expression systems, including:

  • Mempro™ Protein Production in Bacterial Cells System ;
  • Mempro™ Protein Production in Yeast Cells System;
  • Mempro™ Protein Production in Incest Cells System;
  • Mempro™ Protein Production in Mammalian Cells System.

Among Mempro™ cell-based protein production platform, Escherichia coli (E. coli) is widely used as bacterial host for the production of lipocalin proteins. Yeast cell (such as saccharomyces cerevisiae or pichia pastoris) system, is an attractive eukaryotic host due to single cells, fast growth rates, inexpensive media, high cell densities. Insect cell (such as Sf9, Sf21, and High Five) is also a major system for lipocalin expression, which is developed in the early stage that cultivated insect cells with the baculovirus species Autographa californica multiple nuclear polyhedrosis virus (AcMNPV). Mammalian cell presents another eukaryotic expression system, which provides the most authentic cell environment. Mammalian cell lines derived from COS, CHO, BHK-21, HEK293, HeLa and GH3 are popular host for lipocalin production. Our seasoned scientists can perform multiple overexpression and purification strategies for high-yield membrane proteins.

Creative Biostructure are capable of expressing, isolating, purifying and solubilizing lipocalins to facilitate the structural and functional studies.

Creative Biostructure provide other various Mempro™ membrane protein production services. Please feel free to contact us for a detailed quote.
