Mempro™ Plant-Based FYVE/PHD Zinc Finger Protein Production

Inquiry

Creative Biostructure can provide advanced custom FYVE/PHD zinc finger proteins production services using plant-based expression system. Our plant-based expression system holds many advantages for membrane protein production, including high-yield, animal-free, low protease activity, and low endotoxin, etc.

Zinc finger proteins are relatively small proteins that possess multiple finger-like protrusions that make tandem contacts with their target molecule. The biological functions of zinc finger proteins include including transcriptional activation, protein folding, DNA recognition, etc. Their binding properties of zinc finger proteins depend on the amino acid sequence of the finger domains and of the linker between fingers, as well as on the higher-order structures and the number of fingers.

Notably, the FYVE zinc finger domain is conserved from yeast to man, and is named after four proteins that it has been found in: Fab1, YOTB/ZK632.12, Vac1, and EEA1. It functions in the membrane recruitment of cytosolic proteins by binding to phosphatidylinositol 3-phosphate (PI3P), which is found mainly on endosomes. While the plant homeodomain (PHD) zinc finger domain has a C4HC3-type motif, and is widely distributed in eukaryotes, being found in many chromatin regulatory factors.

Creative Biostructure has strong professional experience in providing best membrane protein production services using various types of plant hosts, including Nicotiana benthamiana (tobacco), Medicago rativa (alfalfa), Arabidopsis thaliana (A. thaliana), potato, maize, barley and lettuce. We can perform two different options for membrane protein production in plants: transient expression and stable transformation. We can produce animal-free recombinant membrane proteins, which are particularly crucial for customers concerned with experimental variables caused by trace animal components or mammalian pathogens. Recombinant membrane proteins expressed by our plant system are free of animal components, serum, endotoxins and antibiotics as well as human or animal infectious agents or other endogenous mammalian contamination. In addition, post-translational modification such as glycosylation and disulfide bonds can be introduced in plant system.

With the Mempro™ plant-based protein production system, Creative Biostructure is capable of expressing, isolating and purifying FYVE/PHD zinc finger proteins to facilitate the study of their biological functions. We can overcome the common difficulties encountered in cell-based expression system, such as misfolding, aggregation, inactivity, high endotoxin, poor stability and solubility, etc.

Creative Biostructure can also provide Mempro™ plant-based virus-like particles (VLPs) production services, Mempro™ animal-free recombinant protein production services and Mempro™ membrane protein production services. Please feel free to contact us for a detailed quote.
