Based on the comprehensive and accurate membrane protein production platform established through years of experience, scientists from Creative Biostructure provides high-quality custom Mempro™ receptor-type kinase production services using plant-derived expression system.

Creative Biostructure has set up Mempro™ plant-based expression system to produce virus-like particels (VLPs) and recombinant cytokines and growth factors. The key features of plant-derived system are animal-free, low endotoxin and low protease activity. Recombinant membrane proteins expressed by this system are free of animal components, serum, endotoxins and antibiotics as well as human or animal infectious agents or other endogenous mammalian contamination.

Receptor tyrosine kinases and receptor protein serine/threonine kinases belong to receptor-type kinases. Receptor-type kinases are a family of membrane-bound and high-affinity receptor proteins that play a crucial role in signaling transduction such as inositol-phospholipid-calcium pathway and Ras pathway. A tyrosine kinase can phosphorylate tyrosine residues and a serine-threonine kinase serine or threonine residues. It has been shown that the structure of receptor-type kinase cantains a transmembrane domain, an extracellular ligand-binding domain and a cytosolic tail. The kinase activity of is triggered after the interaction between a ligand and receptor-type kinase, then a phosphorylation cascade can transmit the signal. Different kinases enable adding phosphate groups to amino acids that possess a hydroxyl (OH) group containing side chain.

Creative Biostructure can use various types of host plants to produce recombinant membrane proteins, such as Nicotiana benthamiana (tobacco), Medicago rativa (alfalfa), Arabidopsis thaliana (A. thaliana), potato, maize, barley and lettuce. Due to plant-derived expression system has lots of significant advantages, including cost-effective, high yield, easy storage and distribution, friendly environment, and free of infectious or toxic contaminants, this innovative system can be widely utilized in recent years.

With the Mempro™ plant-based membrane protein production platform, Creative Biostructure is capable of expressing, isolating, purifying and crystallizing lipocalins to facilitate the study of their biological functions. Recombinant membrane proteins from plant system are particularly crucial for customers concerned with experimental variables caused by trace animal components or mammalian pathogens.

Creative Biostructure can also provide customized Mempro™ plant-based virus-like particles (VLPs) production services and Mempro™ membrane protein production services. Please feel free to contact us for a detailed quote.
